A 22 year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder following a fight in an Ardrossan street on Monday night (June 11).
The victim of the attack, an 18 year-old, remains in a critical condition in Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital where he is being treated for serious head injuries.
Emergency services were called to Hill Street in Ardrossan around 8.30pm on Monday, where they found a body lying the street. One local resident told the3towns a fight broke out between two men who were part of a group from the controversial homeless hostel in nearby Princes Street. The incident occurred in Hill Street between its junctions with Princes Street and Princes Place.
Strathclyde Police confirmed an arrest has been made and a report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
The suspect is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today (Wednesday, June 13) in connection with the attempted murder.
