Braw Maws' charity kiltwalk

Members of NHS Ayrshire & Arran's Vulnerable Children's Health Team have raised £1,568.59 by walking a half-marathon – 13 miles – wearing kilts.

Calling themselves the ‘Braw Maws’, the women walked from Clydebank to Loch Lomond and have decided to split the money raised in sponsorship - £790.55 will go to the Children’s Ward at Crosshouse Hospital, with the balance being made available to children's charities, including CLIC Sargent, CHAS (Children’s Hospice Association Scotland) and Cash for Kids.

The Braw Maws presented their donation to Jean Davies, Clinical Nurse Manager for Paediatrics at Crosshouse Hospital   Ms Davies said, “On behalf of the Children's Ward, I would like to thank the Braw Maws for their wonderful donation.  This is an amazing amount of money and will go towards helping our young patients.”
